2021 TAC Conference & Exhibition Wrap Up

Thursday, October 7, 2021

As with most things this year, the 2021 Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) Conference & Exhibition was held online. From September 20 to October 1, delegates from across Canada gathered online to discuss and learn about Recovery and Resilience: Transportation After COVID-19.

The event saw good attendance with a total of 962 registered delegates, 32 exhibiting companies and an average of 59 attendees at each session. The Conference offered a full program of 50+ live web-conferenced presentation sessions, panel discussions and workshops across 19 tracks that showcased the work of 200+ presenters and two Featured Events; all of which was accessed through the online event portal.

The conference’s two plenary sessions explored different takes on the conference theme, “Recovery and Resilience: Transportation after COVID-19”, including transportation’s new look, what has happened, and what lies ahead. Our panels of experts also considered how all orders of government and the private sector could work together to both recover our footing and create more resilient systems.

Attendees were encouraged to network with each other while logged in to the Conference Event Portal; taking advantage of the opportunities to chat by text and video during the Networking event and throughout the conference.

On September 22, attendees navigated the Exhibition hall and learned about Canada's leading transportation companies. Exhibitors were ready to connect and engage with participants in their virtual trade show booths, through live video or text chat. Attendees were also invited to attend live demo presentations by sponsoring companies who showcased their innovative products and/or services.

Many attendees and partners used the Conference hashtag “#TACconf” in their social media posts as a way to bring together TAC’s community online.

The recordings of the Conference technical sessions are now available online until March 2022 to those already registered and others wanting to purchase access. The recordings of the two featured events are being shared free on our website.

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2021 TAC Conference & Exhibition. Without the involvement and continued support of many TAC volunteers who organized and moderated the sessions, the presenters, the interest of those who attended, the exhibitors, and TAC’s 2021 sponsors, the TAC Conference and Exhibition would not be possible.

For info on opportunities to sponsor or advertise with TAC in 2022, contact eandersen@tac-atc.ca.

Next fall, TAC heads to Edmonton for an in-person Conference – stay tuned!
