Small Municipalities Integrated Committee

Overview

This committee supports the Safety, Design & Operations Council. It is a centre of expertise within TAC and a national forum for information exchange and problem solving related to current and emerging issues in the transportation sector of importance to small municipalities. Its broad goals include:

  • Encouraging the development and dissemination of practical tools and approaches for the planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance and rehabilitation of transportation infrastructure within a small municipal context
  • Fostering professional development for practitioners in small municipalities through learning and mentoring opportunities
  • Identifying transportation trends in small municipalities and possible responses

A key purpose of the Committee is to enable the coordinated pursuit by TAC councils and committees of shared or complementary outcomes related to transportation technologies and processes that meet the needs of small municipalities.

The Committee meets in person twice a year, and by teleconference as needed. Meetings are open to all employees of TAC member organizations, individual TAC members, and others at the discretion of the Chair. For more information on the Committee, see its Terms of Reference or contact Craig Stackpole.
