Donors

The TAC Foundation was created in 2003 by TAC – the Transportation Association of Canada. It operates independently and at arms’ length from TAC, and is registered with the Canada Revenue Agency as a charitable organization. The TAC Foundation’s mandate is to encourage a consistent supply of young, well-trained, skilled professionals available for the planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of Canada’s road, highway, and urban transportation infrastructure.

The Foundation is funded by donors from a wide variety of organizations and individuals involved in transportation. Donors recognize the importance of the Foundation’s mandate to Canada’s transportation and roadways sectors, and support the Foundation’s vision of Supporting the Education and Development of Tomorrow's Transportation ProfessionalsTAC Foundation donors receive visibility through the TAC Foundation’s Donor Program.

Most donors are eligible to participate in the Employment Connections component of the scholarship program.  Each fall after the TAC Foundation scholarships have been awarded, top students' employment interests information will be compiled and shared with donor organizations supporting named scholarships, for their consideration as potential new talent.

The TAC Foundation:

  • supports education in transportation-related disciplines;
  • connects transportation and roadways sector employers with the best and brightest young professionals entering the field; and
  • raises the visibility, image and profile of the transportation industry in the Canadian education system.
