TAC Mourns Death of Board Member Stephen Damp

Monday, June 1, 2020

We are saddened to share the news of the death of long-time TAC member, Board Director, and Vice-President, Members-at-Large, Stephen Damp. Stephen passed away Friday, May 29th after suffering a heart attack at his home.

Stephen had been involved with TAC for over 20 years, always strongly supportive of the Association’s collaborative network, mission and vision. He was also Past President and a member of the Board of the TAC Foundation, a cause about which he was passionate. As Executive Vice President, Civil Division, EllisDon, Stephen was a well-respected leader in the industry.

To those who knew him, Stephen was a valued colleague who could be counted on for insightful contributions to discussions and projects, and to offer his time, good humour and generous spirit wherever needed. As a fellow TAC Board member observed upon hearing the devastating news, “Stephen was a force to be reckoned with, fun with an infectious ‘can do’ attitude. He was a leader. He was a friend. He will be missed.”

We are thankful for Stephen’s contributions to TAC. His death is a tremendous loss to the Association, to his business, to his community, and most of all to his family. We offer our heartfelt condolences to his wife, Mary Frances, and his four daughters. TAC will honour Stephen’s memory with a donation to one of the many causes he supported.

Sarah Wells, P.Eng., Ph.D.
