  • Greg Bass has been appointed Deputy Minister of Transportation in Alberta.
  • Effective July 20, Jean-François Tremblay, currently Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet (Operations), Privy Council Office, will become Deputy Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities.
  • The Association for Commuter Transportation, an international trade association supporting commuter transportation and transportation demand management, has named Bill Anderson as its new Executive Director.
  • The International Road Transport Union, headquartered in Geneva, has named Marek Retelski as Deputy Secretary General. The IRU strives to ensure economic growth and prosperity via the sustainable mobility of people and goods by road worldwide. 
  • Bernard Abelson has joined McElhanney Consulting Services Ltd. as Transportation Planning Lead based out of the Surrey (BC) branch.
  • Ron Fraser is the new Director of Engineering and Development at the Town of Drayton Valley, Alberta.
  • Parsons has appointed John McGill as Regional Director for southwest Ontario, where he will plan, direct and manage Parsons’ transportation service offerings from Ontario’s southern and western international border to the Greater Toronto Area.
  • James Purkis has joined Metrolinx as Executive Vice-President of regional express rail.
  • Alan Cary has become CH2M's Regional Managing Director, and will lead the company’s five business groups in Canada: water, transportation, oil/gas/chemicals, environment/nuclear, and facilities.
  • Alan Korell is Municipal Engineers Association’s new Executive Director.
