Major improvements to one of Alberta’s busiest travel corridors are part of more than $7 billion in investment in roads and bridges over five years under the government of Alberta’s Jobs Plan. The province has undertaken an ambitious $34.8 billion plan to build and upgrade critical infrastructure including roads, transit, schools and hospitals. The plan increases investment by 15 per cent compared to the previous government’s plan, for an additional $4.5 billion in new investment over five years. Transportation’s $9.3-billion Capital Plan over the next five years will help get Albertans back to work at good paying jobs, with nearly 600 projects slated for construction over the next three years.

Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure will continue to use the Intergraph name in product branding. The company provides business-critical solutions to governments and service providers while helping to improve safer communities, better public services, and more reliable infrastructure

As of April 26, 2016, Hatch Mott MacDonald has been separated into two independent and unaffiliated businesses – Hatch and Mott MacDonald.  Hatch CEO John Bianchini made the announcement at a reception during the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) convention, where he outlined the company’s vision and strategy and new visual identity. Global engineering and management firm Mott MacDonald is accelerating its growth plans in North America with the addition of over 2000 professionals and 62 offices from the former Hatch Mott MacDonald joint venture.  

Le Ministère des Transports, de la Mobilité durable et de l’Électrification des transports (MTMDET) has made recent changes to its website which include new web architecture and compliance with Quebec’s accessibility standards. The new interface adapts itself to computers, tablets and smart phones and offers a more user-friendly and efficient navigation. The new URL address for the MTMDET is now www.transports.gouv.qc.ca.
