Mental Health in the Workplace: How Organizations Can Help During the Pandemic and Beyond

Mental health is a critical concern in times of change and disruption, and transportation organizations can improve employee well-being through supportive policies, programs and practices. During this webinar, participants will hear about a comprehensive workplace approach to mental health. Presenters from the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) will discuss issues and resources related to the COVID-19 pandemic, including steps for transportation organizations to promote mental and physical health as they return to normal operations.

Presenters

Susan Freeman, Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety
Sue is one of two appointed mental health champions at CCOHS, and delivers workshops on mental health using her background in experiential psychotherapy, emotional intelligence and positive psychology. She has a Master’s degree in Science—Marketing from the London School of Business and Finance (LSBF) and the University of Wales, Cardiff.

Emma Ashurst, Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety
Emma is the other mental health champion at CCOHS, and provides technical advice and guidance to employers, employees and government officials across Canada on topics including mental health. Her responsibilities include implementing the CSA Standard on Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace at the Centre. She received a degree in Health Sciences and a post-graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management from the University of Western Ontario.
