The Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA+) process is a growing presence in Canadian public policy, including in the proposed Impact Assessment Act under Bill C-69. This webinar will discuss the GBA+ process, proposed legislative changes, and how impact assessments can be gender-sensitive and consider impacts on different groups.

Alexandra Mitsidou, M.A. – Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions
Alexandra is a Project Manager in Impact Assessment and Authorizations for Wood. She is an anthropologist and resilience expert with nine years of experience including development and humanitarian initiatives to improve gender equality in Latin America, Africa and Asia. Her current work focuses on environmental and social impact assessments for projects in the oil and gas, infrastructure, mining and renewable energy sectors.
Reem Tanta, (P.Env.), B.A., P.G. Dip. M.Sc. – Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions
Reem is Senior Socio-Economist and Sustainability Services Lead for Wood in Western Canada, with 20 years of domestic and international experience. She has led more than 30 socio-economic and sustainability studies for infrastructure, resource and energy projects, and worked with international development agencies on sustainable development, livelihood diversity and gender equality. She has supported gender-sensitive studies in the Middle East, North Africa, USA and Europe.
