Ensuring road safety is a key priority for transportation professionals in engineering, planning, or operations. Understanding best practices for road safety is critical, and the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) has many resources available to help you stay up to date.
Safety, Design & Operations Council
This Council guides TAC in fulfilling its commitment to a safe and efficient transportation system with enhanced mobility and a reduced rate of death and injury among all road users. It is a national forum for information exchange and problem-solving related to road safety programs, geometric design, and traffic operations as key elements of a safe system approach; it also offers a lens on priority issues for small municipalities. The Council is supported by four committees: the Geometric Design Committee, the Road Safety Committee, the Small Municipalities Integrated Committee, and the Traffic Operations & Management Committee.
Celebrating Industry Achievements
Each year, TAC recognizes a member organization for excellence in the application and advancement of road safety engineering practices. Visit TAC’s Road Safety Achievement Award webpage to read about this award and view detailed applications of all winners since 2007.
