Leadership Update from TAC’s Board of Directors

May 30, 2025

The Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) announces leadership changes within its Board of Directors following the departure of Bryce Stewart from his role as President.

Bryce, who served as Deputy Minister of Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors, has been appointed Deputy Minister, Hospitals and Surgical Health Services in Alberta. In his resignation message, Bryce shared:

“TAC is a very special organization. It brings together technical expertise, multiple orders of government and the private sector in a collegial, solutions-oriented manner. It was a privilege to be part of the organization, albeit for a limited time.”

We sincerely thank Bryce for his contributions and leadership during his time with TAC.

Doug Jones, Deputy Minister, Ontario Ministry of Transportation, is stepping into the role of TAC President. Doug previously served as Vice President representing the federal/provincial/territorial category on the Executive Committee and brings valuable experience and continuity to this new role.

We also welcome Kelly Cain as Vice President, Federal/Provincial/Territorial. Kelly is returning to the Executive Committee, having served in this same role during a previous term on TAC’s Board of Directors. Her renewed involvement is a welcome addition to TAC’s leadership.

Other continuing officers on the Executive Committee include:

  • Lon LaClaire (City of Vancouver)
    Vice President, Municipal
  • Scott Stewart (Scott Stewart & Associates)
    Vice President, Members-at-large
  • Michael Thompson (City of Calgary)
    Treasurer
  • Sarah Wells (TAC)
    Executive Director and Secretary

We thank all members of the Board of Directors for their ongoing commitment and leadership, and we look forward to continued collaboration in support of TAC’s mission and membership.
