The Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) is happy to announce the recipients of the 2025 “TAC Grant for Young Innovators in Transportation”, “TAC Grant for Young Professionals in Small Municipalities” and the “Allan Widger Consulting Corporation Grant for Young Geotechnical Engineers in Transportation.” These grants show a commitment to supporting emerging talent and nurturing future leaders in our industry.

TAC Grant for Young Innovators in Transportation

The TAC Grant for Young Innovators in Transportation empowers young professionals to participate actively in TAC’s technical meetings and annual conference. The grant of up to $5,000 helps recipients immerse themselves in the latest advancements and discussions shaping the transportation landscape. It is made possible thanks to the generosity of Scott Stewart & Associates.

Congratulations to Daniel Weng, an AI & Digital Innovation Lead for Parsons’ North American infrastructure unit and a member of the firm’s AI innovation and governance teams, for being selected as this year’s recipient.

TAC Grant for Young Professionals in Small Municipalities

The TAC Grant for Young Professionals in Small Municipalities supports emerging leaders in transportation by providing up to $4,000 to facilitate their participation in TAC’s technical meetings and annual conference. This opportunity enables recipients to engage with industry experts and stay at the forefront of transportation innovation. It is made possible through the generosity of Paradigm Transportation Solutions Limited.

Congratulations to Kalyna Cipywnyk, the first-ever recipient of the grant, who is the director of public works at the City of Melfort in northeast Saskatchewan.

Allan Widger Consulting Corporation Grant for Young Geotechnical Engineers in Transportation

The Allan Widger Consulting Corporation Grant for Young Geotechnical Engineers in Transportation supports young professionals specializing in geotechnical engineering within the transportation domain. The grant of up to $4,000 helps recipients actively participate in TAC’s technical meetings and annual conference.
