SEVE-TP — the Reference Tool for Low-carbon Construction Projects
SEVE-TP is an online eco-comparator tool for the public works sector, used to quantify and compare the environmental impacts (like CO2, energy, materials) of different technical solutions for road construction and maintenance projects, helping stakeholders choose greener options, especially in public tenders, by focusing on a partial life cycle analysis from design to site delivery.
Key functions and features :
- Eco-Comparison: Compares standard project specs with environmentally friendlier alternatives (e.g., using recycled materials, optimized logistics)
- Quantifiable Indicators: Measures impacts using indicators like natural aggregate use, CO2 emissions, energy consumption, and material recycling
- Stakeholder Use: Used by project owners to write tenders and by contractors to develop and present eco-friendly bids
About the presenter:
Jean-Martin Croteau, P.Eng., Technical Director. A graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada, Jean-Marc has served as Technical Director at Colas Canada Inc. for 18 years, overseeing technical support for the company’s operations nationwide. A registered professional engineer in Alberta, B.C., Ontario, and Quebec, he is a past president of the CTAA and a member of various TAC committees.
