TAC’s Project on Estimating Utility Relocation Costs — Request for Proposals Now Available

May 15, 2026

The Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) has launched a new project to develop a synthesis of current industry practices for estimating the costs to relocate utilities. It will also scope the development of an online tool that can provide reliable, high-level estimates of utility relocation costs for transportation projects.

TAC is seeking a qualified firm or group to conduct the work. Proposals are due by 13:00 ET on June 11, 2026. View the details and download the Request for Proposals.

All of TAC’s pooled-fund projects are financially supported by partner organizations that also direct and oversee the work. Contact us to learn more about contributing and joining the project steering committee that will guide this important initiative. Thank you to the project’s current funding partners: Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors, Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure, Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable, Ontario Ministry of Transportation, City of Calgary, City of Moncton, and Halifax Regional Municipality.

TAC is also seeking funding partners for several other projects currently in development. Visit the list of current projects, select the status “In Development”, and contact us to discuss how your organization can get involved.
