Reimagining Decision-Making: The Future Potential of Integrated Insights
We asked a simple question: what could we learn if we looked at our collision data alongside our community concerns? TRACER and UNPACK provide a glimpse of that future. TRACER visualizes years of collision data, uncovering hidden patterns. UNPACK transforms qualitative feedback into insightful narratives. The real opportunity is in seeing (and imagining further) how these perspectives can come together to change planning.
We’ll explore emerging opportunities: new methods of risk detection, increased alignment between community priorities and design choices, and cross-disciplinary collaboration that brings richer insights. Instead of a product demonstration, this session invites us to rethink how we approach evidence, expertise, and decision-making.
When combined, TRACER’s quantitative rigour and UNPACK’s qualitative depth generate a strong synergy, providing deeper insights for projects like roadway safety, urban planning, and more.
About the presenters:
Katrina McCullough, Engagement Leader. Katrina leads GHD’s Engagement and Communications practice in Ontario. She has dedicated the last 15 years to helping clients create lasting community benefit through meaningful stakeholder engagement. Katrina has led community engagement programs for private and public sector clients in the fields of infrastructure, transportation, waste management and planning.
Kandasamy Vignesh Sivasubramanian, Data Scientist. Kanda is a master data scientist with a love of transportation. Together with Emily and other key contributors, he is working to evolve how AI and engagement data can be harnessed to improve access to transportation insights.
