Connecting and Protecting Communities Across Canada

Across Canada, Parsons delivers transportation systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably. From highway and transit programs to bridge rehabilitation and corridor modernization, Parsons leads major infrastructure delivery, construction management, and program management initiatives that strengthen regional mobility and economic growth. Our work goes beyond building and maintaining transportation networks. We protect the systems that communities rely on through advanced cybersecurity consulting and proprietary digital platforms that safeguard infrastructure assets and critical data.

We also demonstrate environmental responsibility on nationally significant projects, including the Faro and Giant Mine remediation programs, where we bring transportation expertise together with environmental stewardship to restore lands impacted by industrial activity. Through these efforts, we prioritize employment, training, and long-term economic benefits for Indigenous partners. Parsons is building resilient, connected, and protected communities across Canada, today and for generations to come.

Bus Rapid Transit by Design: Scalable Solutions for Communities of All Sizes

This session explores the spectrum of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) models—ranging from fully dedicated corridors to cost-effective, technology-enabled spinal routes—and examines how each can deliver meaningful reliability and modal shift, even in smaller or emerging transit markets. AECOM will also provide practical guidance on how agencies can establish themselves for success, build internal capacity, and partner effectively to advance BRT programs.

About the presenter:

Marisa Espinosa, Director, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). Marisa is AECOM Canada’s BRT Director, bringing 20 years of experience in strategic planning, multimodal mobility, and major infrastructure development. She has led transformative projects at TransLink, the City of Vancouver, and agencies in the Bay Area. Marisa specializes in integrating land use, equity, and sustainable transit to shape future-ready communities.

Edward Stubbing, Department Manager, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) & Emerging Transportation Technologies. Edward leads ITS & Emerging Transportation Technology at AECOM Canada, integrating ITS, CAVs, micro-mobility, and data-driven approaches.
