Many public agencies and academic institutions now have access to large-scale roadway and mobility datasets, including network-wide speed information and a wide range of roadway attributes. When effectively used, these massive datasets can significantly enhance transportation planning, analysis, and modelling. However, despite growing data availability, limited internal resources or technical expertise often prevent organizations from fully leveraging their potential.
To help bridge this gap, a webinar series will showcase how different organizations are using massive datasets to support planning, modelling, and decision-making. Presenters will share their experience, tools, methodologies, and key lessons learned.

Using HERE data to support travel time studies and congestion analysis

This presentation gives a high-level overview of real-time HERE traffic and travel-time data, how it is used within the MTO, and the challenges associated with working with large-scale datasets. It highlights emerging custom Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools designed to streamline analysis and ends with examples of how HERE data has been applied to support decisions about event planning and transportation infrastructure.
