Introducing the New TAC Library

July 9, 2025

Easier, Smarter Access to Transportation Knowledge

TAC is proud to launch the TAC Library, a refreshed and upgraded resource that connects our members with transportation knowledge from around the world. Designed with a cleaner look and a better user experience, the new Library makes it easier than ever to find, access, and share research on roads, highways, and urban transportation.

Why a new Library?

TAC’s previous Library platform had served our members well for many years, but it was based on aging software that was no longer supported. The new cloud-based system is more secure, reliable, and aligned with today’s user expectations. With improved search tools, cleaner navigation, and better access to content, you’ll spend less time searching and more time learning.

What to expect:

  • A more stable and secure system, now hosted in the cloud
  • A modern user interface that works better across devices
  • Cleaner search results and a more intuitive catalogue structure
  • Smarter search tools that let you fine-tune results without starting over
  • Basic Search Syntax that helps users by providing examples of how to search effectively
  • Enhanced access to over 18,000 documents, including Canadian and international research
  • One-click downloads of electronic documents for everyone
  • Simplified borrowing of physical documents for TAC members
  • Improved support for literature searches and inter-library loans
  • A direct link to global research visibility via the TRID database

Whether you’re a transportation professional, academic, student, or policymaker, the TAC Library connects you with guidance, evidence, and insight from Canada and abroad – including sources like the U.S. Transportation Research Board and the U.K. Transport Research Laboratory.

You can also increase the reach of your own work: TAC is TRID’s official Canadian contact, and we regularly submit Canadian research to this international database. If you’ve been working on a project – theoretical or applied – let us know!
