Active Transportation Integrated Committee

Overview

This committee supports the Mobility Council. It is a centre of expertise within TAC and a national forum for information exchange and problem solving related to active transportation, with a focus on walking and cycling. Its broad goals include:

  • Raising awareness of the importance of active transportation within TAC’s councils, committees and general membership
  • Sharing information and promoting collaboration on active transportation initiatives undertaken by TAC councils and committees, through the active participation of members and direct communication between executives
  • Identifying emerging issues in active transportation, and technical activities to address them

A key purpose of the Committee is to enable the coordinated pursuit by TAC councils and committees of shared or complementary outcomes related to active transportation.

The Committee meets in person twice a year, and by teleconference as needed. Meetings are open to all employees of TAC member organizations, individual TAC members, and others at the discretion of the Chair. For more information on the Committee, see its Terms of Reference or contact Geoff Noxon.
