Located within the Integrated Transportation Team, this position will support the planning and development of the City’s transportation systems including major roads, neighbourhood streets, transit and active transportation.

With rapid growth, the City is improving and upgrading its transportation networks to maintain mobility, improve safety, reduce environmental impacts and align with community housing, climate and livability targets. As we grow our transportation challenges are becoming more complex, with projects often having diverse objectives, significant constraints and multiple stakeholders. Success often requires systems level thinking combined with innovative solutions. To help solve these challenges, we are looking for a candidate that brings urban transportation experience, innovative ideas, works well within a team environment and is excited to grow.

Qualifications

This position works within a team of transportation professionals to identify, prioritize and advance transportation improvement projects and programs.  Responsibilities, include; the provision of technical expertise and guidance, the development of capital projects, focused on planning through preliminary design, collaboration with internal, external agency, and community stakeholders, assessing the transportation impacts of new developments and infrastructure projects, the analysis of traffic data and trends, the optimization of traffic signals, pedestrian crossings, roundabouts and other intersection access controls, the improvement of safety and system performance, the leverage of emerging transportation technologies and the preparation of clear and concise reports, presentations, and communication materials for a variety of audiences including Council.

This exempt position offers a salary range of $106,000 to $123,000 employer-paid comprehensive benefits, an earned day off program, paid vacation and one of Canada’s top pension plans.
