Safety Performance of Bicycle Infrastructure in Canada

The growth of cycling in Canada is spurring the development of infrastructure intended to better serve the safety and mobility needs of cyclists. This webinar will provide an overview of TAC’s new publication on the safety performance of bicycle infrastructure in Canada, including key findings related to:

  • The safety performance of different bicycle facility types
  • The factors that affect observed and perceived safety
  • Related data and knowledge gaps

The webinar will also present a bicycle facility selection flowchart developed through this project.

Jeannette Montufar, MORR Transportation Consulting Ltd.
Dr. Jeannette Montufar has more than 20 years of international experience in road safety, active transportation, and traffic engineering and freight systems, including nearly 15 years as a professor in Civil Engineering at the University of Manitoba. She has received many local, national and international awards for her contributions to transportation engineering and engineering education.
