Preparing for a Future With CAVs

How should governments and their partners prepare for connected and automated vehicles (CAVs)? This webinar presented key findings of the groundbreaking CAV Readiness Plan for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area and Kitchener-Waterloo Corridor. The project’s recommendations for CAV-ready transportation infrastructure, operations and institutions across Canada were developed with help from more than 70 stakeholders including Transport Canada, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, Metrolinx and municipal governments.

Susan Boot, Ministry of Transportation, Ontario
Susan Boot is MTO’s Head, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Innovation and Planning Office.  With over 28 years of experience with MTO and 9 years with the Intelligent Transportation Systems Office, she has experience with provincial highway planning and design and ITS planning, design and operations.  Susan is currently responsible for innovation and strategic planning for MTO’s ITS program and is heavily engaged in MTO’s planning for Smart Mobility and Connected and Automated Vehicles.

Mara Bullock, WSP
Mara Bullock is WSP’s National ITS & Technology Planning Manager and a member of ITS Canada’s Board of Directors. With 27 years of experience in the public and private sectors, she has delivered pragmatic technology solutions to clients around the world.
