Managing and Enhancing Terrestrial Road Ecology: A New TAC Resource

TAC has released a new publication on practices to protect Canada’s roadside habitats and the species that live in them. During this webinar, the report’s authors will highlight the terrestrial ecological issues affecting rural and urban road systems across Canada, and some emerging solutions to challenges such as wildlife-vehicle collisions, restoration of connective habitats, management of pollinator habitats, naturalization of rights-of-way, and permafrost warming.

Alex Zeller, WSP Canada
Alex has two decades of experience in terrestrial and aquatic ecology, open space planning, and geomatics. He has played leading roles in challenging natural heritage projects across Canada, including the siting, design and construction of wildlife crossing structures for small to medium-sized species, including species at risk.

Dee Patriquin, WSP Canada
Dee is an interdisciplinary scientist with three decades of experience in environmental impact assessment, land use and conservation policy projects. She draws on her education in wildlife ecology and environmental policy, including her PhD research into collaborative environmental policy for sustainable development.
