Calgary’s Autonomous Shuttle Pilot Test

In September 2018, The City of Calgary and Pacific Western Transportation pilot tested an autonomous shuttle between the Calgary Zoo LRT station and the Telus Spark Science Centre—one of the first public demonstrations of autonomous vehicle technology in Canada. This webinar will give an overview of the project, the lessons learned, and the results of an opinion survey of shuttle passengers.

Andrew Sedor, City of Calgary
As Calgary’s Business Development Coordinator in Transportation, Andrew leads the evaluation of new transportation technologies, managed the autonomous vehicle pilot project, and authored Calgary’s Future of Transportation report. He also launched the City’s Living Lab program, where he works with companies, researchers and individuals to leverage City infrastructure for product testing and trial in real-life environments with the goal of fostering economic growth and diversity. Prior to this role, Andrew was Senior Advisor to the General Manager of Transportation at the City of Calgary. He holds a master’s degree in Land Economics from the University of Cambridge.
