Your Consent: Why it’s Important

Thursday, May 28, 2020

When it comes to sending email marketing, the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) follows Canada’s anti-spam legislation (CASL). Simply put, TAC can send you a commercial electronic message (CEM):

  • if you’ve given us expressed consent to be contacted until you opt-out from our CEMs, OR
  • for a period of ONLY two years after you’ve used a TAC product or service, or have been added to our database, ie. given your implied consent.

Even if your organization is a TAC member, it’s up to each individual to give his or her expressed consent to continue to receive information from TAC about our upcoming events, new publications, industry news and more! Please know that you can unsubscribe from our email list at any time by clicking the UNSUBSCRIBE link at the bottom of every emailer from TAC.

How do I provide Expressed Consent?

There are two ways to give TAC your expressed consent:

  • email secretariat@tac-atc.ca or phone us at 613-736-1350 x273 to let us know.
  • login to your TAC Online account (‘Account Login’ at top right of www.tac-atc.ca) and select the tab ‘My Account’ from your Dashboard. Click the ‘Email Notifications’ menu item. (Don’t have a TAC Online account? Request one.)

If your toggle is green, you’ve already provided your expressed consent and no further action is needed.

If your toggle is red, click on it to change it to green to give your expressed consent.

Remember that you can unsubscribe at any time from each and every emailer we send.

Have questions or need help? Email secretariat@tac-atc.ca or call 613-736-1350 ext. 273.
