Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure (MTI) is seeking a Transportation Planning Engineer to join the Capital Planning Branch. The Capital Planning Branch is responsible for managing the annual capital programs; providing expertise in program development for short and long-term strategic capital infrastructure investment plans and policies of the department; building the framework and analysis for decision-making and establishing value for money across all of Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure’s asset categories; and managing the maintenance, enhancements and quality assurance of data, programs and project systems (Construction Management System (CMS), MTl’s geo-referenced, internal and public-facing maps of capital projects and MTI’s Capital Infrastructure Dashboards.)

Reporting to the senior Transportation Systems Planning Engineer, the Transportation Planning Engineer provides engineering expertise and analytical support for the long-term planning and strategic development of the provincial, multi-modal transportation system; and provides support for transportation system policy development, including being responsible for the department’s Active Transportation Policy. This position requires extensive interaction and co-operation with the Infrastructure, Capital Projects Division,Transportation Operations Division, Engineering & Technical Services Division, the Director of Capital Planning and executive management to gather information related to the development of divisional policies and provide research and analysis in response to requests for information.
EG3 $76,730.00 – $97,478.00 per year
