Are you passionate about working with government, road authorities, industry and other road safety partners to creatively address road risks?  If so, our Road Safety team has an opportunity for you on the Roads Portfolio.

You will have experience leading road safety projects and initiatives including identifying road safety problems, developing road safety solutions, and assisting in the management of implementing road improvement deliverables.

Your engineering experience, technical ability, commitment to effective partnerships, and a passion to improve road safety are required for the position of Road Safety Engineer.

 

Position requirements

  • Professional designation in Engineering, registered (or ability to register) with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Transportation Engineering, with a minimum of 3 years of concentrated experience in Road Safety Engineering.
  • Experience and knowledge of the principles, theories, concepts, and practices in Transportation Engineering.
  • Experience and knowledge of municipal Traffic Engineering practices, processes, and constraints.
  • Experience and knowledge of the best practices, processes, trends and developments within Road Safety Engineering and Project Management.
  • Experience and knowledge of Road Safety Engineering programming and strategies, including the linkages education and enforcement safety programs.
  • The successful candidate must be a self-starter that can work independently with minimal supervision, and able to work within a high-functioning environment.
  • The position may require someone who is able to travel within the province for sustained periods (typically 2-3 days at a time).  A valid class 5 driver’s license is required.

Salary and benefits

Employment Type:  Permanent Full Time

Hours of Work:  7.5 hours per day – 5 day week (M-F)

Work Arrangement:  Mobile

Salary Range:  $98600.00 – $139700.00 Annually

Location:  North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
