Important Updates to TAC’s Geometric Design Guide

Thursday, August 8, 2019

Updates to several chapters of the 2017 Edition of the Geometric Design Guide for Canadian Roads (GDG) were approved recently by the Revisions and Additions Subcommittee of the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC).

Customers who purchased print or e-book copies since the English GDG’s release in June 2017 have been contacted by email and given instructions on how to update their titles.

  • E-book customers were advised that any comments, notes or highlights made in their Vitalsource e-book document(s) will not be available in the new masters when they are uploaded. Customers should copy or print and retain any pages with their own customizations, and re-insert them as of August 19 when the new master files are available in their account.
  • Print version customers of GDG Chapters 2, 5, 7, 9 and 10 were asked to visit TAC’s website to access the Summary of Revisions. They should print the summary of revisions, file it with their print document(s) AND write the updates directly on the appropriate pages of the affected chapter(s).

Updated GDG chapters will be sold starting August 19, 2019. Pages affected by revisions will include a yellow ‘sticky note’, with more details in the Summary of Revisions at the back of each affected chapter.

If you have questions or need clarification on the updates, contact publications@tac-atc.ca.
