Two New Projects Get Underway

TAC is pleased to announce the launch of two new pooled-fund projects. Committed funders are working to draft detailed terms of reference, and TAC will issue requests for proposals over the next two months. Both initiatives welcome the addition of new funding partners; contact us for more information.

Best Practices for Bridge Deck HMA Paving in Canada. This project will help transportation agencies improve the design, specification and construction of hot-mix asphalt (HMA) wear surfaces on bridges. Funding partners include Alberta Transportation, Newfoundland and Labrador Transportation and Works, Northwest Territories Department of Infrastructure, Ministère des Transports du Québec, Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure, Yukon Highways and Public Works, City of Saskatoon, and City of Winnipeg.

Developing Highly Qualified Personnel for Road Authorities. This project will examine technology and mobility trends, identify skills gaps, and propose measures to strengthen training and academic programs. Funding partners include Transport Canada, British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, Ministère des Transports du Québec, Yukon Highways and Public Works, City of Ottawa, City of Toronto, and the Ontario Good Roads Association.
