TAC’s New Connected and Automated Vehicles Task Force

Tuesday, October 30, 2018

At its recent meeting in Saskatoon, TAC's Board of Directors approved a new Connected and Automated Vehicles Task Force (CAV Task Force) that will report directly to the Board.

TAC's website includes a brief description of the Task Force, and a link to its Terms of Reference.

The Board also appointed Garreth Rempel (MORR Transportation Consulting) as Task Force Chair and Kenedee Ludwar (British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure) as Vice-Chair. The Task Force will hold its inaugural meeting in April 2019 at TAC’s Spring Technical Meetings in Ottawa.

The Task Force is now seeking expressions of interest from individuals to represent TAC member organizations as voting members of the Task Force. Seats are available for a two-year term for representatives of up to ten municipal or regional transportation authorities and up to five private businesses or academic institutions.

With the prior approval of their employers, interested individuals should contact TAC with their name, position, employer and a brief statement of relevant qualifications and experience (150 words or less) no later than November 22, 2018. All expressions of interest will be acknowledged and successful candidates will be notified by December 8, 2018.

Individuals who wish to stay informed, attend future meetings and/or participate in Task Force initiatives can also contact TAC to become a Friend of the Task Force.
