TAC Student Grants | Impacting Students

Tuesday, April 2, 2019

At the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC), we believe a diversity of attributes, experiences, and perspectives are needed to build tools that can transform the transportation industry. Everyone deserves an opportunity to pursue connections in the industry, network with peers, and to establish a career path.

To help break down the barriers that prevent students from attending our annual conference, we’re excited to offer at least one Student Grant for the 2019 TAC-ITS Canada Joint Conference & Exhibition. The grant is intended to support students in attending TAC Conferences which enhance their educational opportunities outside the classroom.

Jeff Pascua, M.Sc. (Candidate) was the 2018 Student Grant recipient, and attended the TAC Conference & Exhibition in Saskatoon.  Here are some thoughts from Jeff on how the Student Grant impacted his career.

“As the recipient of the 2018 TAC Conference & Exhibition Student Grant, the conference provided me with an engaging platform to personally connect with exhibitors, industry professionals, and other students in the field of transportation. Some of my favourite aspects of the conference program that I attended were the various technical tours and social events, as they were as both highly informative and entertaining.

I also appreciated the degree of support that the TAC conference provides to students in the transportation profession, particularly through the activities during Student Day. I had the opportunity to network with industry leaders and other post-secondary students. As an upcoming graduate, the industry connections that I have made during my time at the conference gave me the assurance to begin my career in transportation. I encourage any student in the transportation profession to consider attending the annual conference, as it was truly a worthwhile experience.”

At least one student grant will be offered to graduate and undergraduate (university and college) students in transportation-related discipline to attend the 2019 TAC-ITS Canada Joint Conference & Exhibition.

Apply now for an opportunity to access more than 70 conference sessions, panels and workshops on emerging and critical issues that touch on safety, mobility and technology related to transportation. Apply by August 12, 2019 to be considered.
