This periodic column features notices from people working in the transportation and road-related industries.

  • Shaun Hammond has been appointed Assistant Deputy Minister, Safety, Policy and Engineering for Alberta Transportation.
  • The Corrugated Steel Pipe Institute (CSPI) has appointed Raymond J. Wilcock as Executive Director, effective April 1. Mr. Wilcock replaces David J. Penny, who will then assume the role of Director Emeritus.
  • Wanda Richardson, formerly with Hatch Mott MacDonald, has been named Vice President Canada, Federal Services, at AECOM.  Ms. Richardson is also Chair of the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC)’s Urban Transportation Council.
  • Andy Elliot, a long-time member of the Canadian Transportation Research Forum (CTRF), passed away on March 15. Mr. Elliot spent 46 years working in transportation policy for various organizations and held many positions on the CTRF Board. He was also a stalwart member of the Roads and Transportation Association of Canada (RTAC) in the 70s and 80s.
  • The Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) Board of Directors has appointed Daniel Bergeron as First Vice Chair, replacing Stéphane Forget, who recently resigned from the Executive due to his departure from la Société de transport de Montréal. Mr. Bergeron is Vice President with Montreal’s Agence métropolitaine de transport and has been leading CUTA’s Integrated Mobility Task Force over the past year.
  • Jacqueline Hinman has been named CH2M HILL’s Chief Executive Officer, replacing Lee McIntire, who will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board.
  • Marcus Weeks has joined GHD as Principal Tunneling Consultant and Careesa Gee as Marketing and Events Manager. Craig Teske has also moved to GHD’s Canadian office from Brisbane, Australia, bringing more than 30 years of experience in civil engineering planning and asset management.
  • Delcan Corporation is pleased to welcome Rajan Philips as Senior Transportation Engineer and Manager of Delcan’s Waterloo Regional Operations.
