Catch up on TAC member organizations and associations in the transportation and road-related sectors.

Boulevard Transportation Group Ltd., a firm providing transportation planning and engineering services for private and public sector clients, is merging with Watt Consulting Group, an engineering firm operating out of Calgary offering civil and municipal engineering, geomatics and transportation engineering. As a result, Boulevard Transportation Group will operate under the same name but will become a division of the Watt Consulting Group.

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) has consolidated all of its news and informational products for members and the general public into a single online resource, AASHTOJournal.org. Users can now use one search function to find what they need across all AASHTO news products.  AASHTO’s corporate website remains www.transportation.org

Australian engineering firm GHD and Canada-based designer Conestoga-Rovers & Associates (CRA) announced an agreement to create an employee-owned firm with an estimated $1.5 billion in revenue.  All ongoing employee shareholders in Waterloo, Ont.-based CRA would become immediate shareholders of Sydney-based GHD. The combined firm would have about 8,500 employees, with 4,000 in the Americas.  Financial details were not disclosed but the deal is set to close in July, pending shareholder and other approvals.

National Engineering Month celebrates engineering during the month of March. Over 500 special events presented across the country provide an opportunity for youth to learn about the engineering profession and the accomplishments of Canada’s top engineers.
