Senior Highway Design Engineer

$68,676.17 - $89,550.22 annually plus 5.5%% Recruitment and Retention Adjustment

The purpose of this position is to complete and/or supervise the delivery of professional highway design services.

Highly organized and results oriented, you are capable of meeting deadlines associated with multiple projects. You are a skilled communicator, able to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent as recognized by the relevant association. 
  • Registered, or immediately eligible for registration with Engineers & Geoscientists BC as Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineering Licensee (Eng.L.).
  • Directly related experience, including progressively more responsible positions in highway design, with at least 7 years working in positions with direct responsibility for highway design.
  • Experience managing concurrent projects, developing and interpreting highway design project specifications and standards, and providing direction and leadership to project teams.
  • Preference may be given to those with at least five (5) years of experience in hands-on highway project design, or procuring and managing design consultants, or a combination of both.
  • Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License or equivalent.
