It builds light transit, bus rapid transit and Regional Express Rail and operates GO Transit, UP Express and PRESTO.

Our Rail Fleet Maintenance Office is seeking (1) Performance & Compliance Officer - DMU to monitor the quality of rail equipment maintenance, servicing and repairs in accordance with regulatory, corporate and contractual standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring all aspects of the services provided by Metrolinx’s maintenance contractor.
  • Performing equipment and invoice audits.
  • Investigating on-road equipment failures, delays, passenger complaints, accidents and claim issues involving rail equipment, establishing cause and initiating corrective action.

Location: Willowbrook West Rail Facility (125 Judson Street) 

Shift/ Hours: Sunday to Thursday (2300 - 0630)

  • Completion of a 3-4 year community college program in engineering technology or a four-year railway apprentice program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a repair and inspection capacity involving locomotive and coach mechanical and electrical systems, including direct exposure to or knowledge of:
  • Demonstrated ability in immediate assessment of locomotive and coach equipment condition, fitness for use and effect of repair requirements.
  • Good analytical and diagnostic skills.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant federal rail and transit regulations, the Canadian Rail Operating and American Association of Railway Rules.
  • Good working knowledge of PC based systems and software applications. Excellent oral, written and organizational skills.
  • Must have a valid class “G” driver’s licence and must meet the corporate standard for a good driving record.
  • Must be able to obtain the GO Transit Operator’s Permit.
