Duties

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking experienced Contract Administrators to join our Transportation Group, reporting to the Contract Administration Manager in our Burlington office.  This position will be responsible for Contract Administration for road, watermain and structure projects in the Halton Region and Niagara Region.

The position will include the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor junior and senior inspectors in monitoring and documenting construction activities, ensuring adherence with contract specifications and documenting non-conformance
  • Lead and document regular site meetings
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding project status, claim resolution, site issues and project quality, and resolve issues as required
  • With the support and guidance of project engineers, provide direction to contractor including preparation and issuance of INCs
  • Management of Quality Assurance testing
  • Preparation of Payment Certificates
  • Oversee Change Requests and Claims
  • Management of responses to Contractor’s RFIs and RFCs
  • Evaluate and document contractor performance
  • Ensure adherence with Wood’s safety policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10+ years collective experience in site inspection and contract administration on transportation projects. 
  • Experience on a variety of municipal or MTO projects 
  • Experience with structure, sewer, watermain, and road construction standards
  • Experience supervising field staff members
  • Familiarity with sewer and road construction materials, standards, methods and processes 
  • Experience in constructability review, cost estimation, schedule management and preparation of contract documents and specifications would be an asset 
  • Computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PDF markup and Windows applications
  • Valid driver’s license required, this position requires use of a personal vehicle with reimbursement per Wood policy
