Congratulations to the 2021 TAC Volunteer Contribution Award Winners

Each year, the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) recognizes outstanding volunteers who have greatly contributed toward the work of TAC council or committees through notable initiatives, leadership and innovation.

TAC’s Individual Contribution Award recognizes individual volunteers who have exhibited notable levels of initiative, creativity, effort and/or technical excellence in making a shorter-term contribution toward the work of TAC councils or committees.

Congratulations to the 2021 TAC Individual Contribution Award winners:

  • Ethan Askey, City of Calgary
  • Derek Drummond, Stantec Consulting Ltd. (now with Dawson Road Maintenance)
  • Lucas Knowles, Yukon Highways and Public Works
  • Lisa Salsberg, Access Planning

TAC’s Leadership Award recognizes individual volunteers who have provided continuous, effective leadership during 10 or more years of active participation on TAC councils and committees, and who have earned a reputation for dedication, collaboration, knowledge and integrity.

Congratulations to the 2021 TAC Leadership Award winners:

  • Taso Koutroulakis, Halifax Regional Municipality
  • Tim Murphy, Parsons
  • Mark Popik, Thurber Engineering

TAC’s Distinguished Service Award is the association’s highest honour. It recognizes leaders who have had a tangible and enduring impact on progress toward TAC’s vision and mission, and thereby on Canada’s transportation sector. Recipients have contributed actively to TAC councils and committees for at least 15 years, among their 25 years or more of industry experience.

Congratulations to the 2021 TAC Distinguished Service Award winner, Jack MacDonald, City of Moncton.

TAC’s Committee Excellence Award recognizes excellence and innovation by TAC’s volunteer standing committees, subcommittees, working groups and project steering committees. Recipients have contributed to TAC’s vision and mission through specific initiatives related to knowge building, professional development, or member engagement.

Congratulations to the TAC Committee Excellence Award winners:

  • Project Steering Committee for Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Canada, Sixth Edition. Chair: Rob Hird, Nova Scotia Transportation and Active Transit
