COVID-19 Health & Safety

Protecting the health and safety of attendees, volunteers and staff at the TAC Conference & Exhibition is our top priority. As such, we will follow or exceed all mandated venue, municipal and provincial COVID-19 guidelines and continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation in Canada.

Because the COVID-19 situation is fluid, the measures described below may change as the Conference & Exhibition approaches. These measures are put in place to help prevent the presence and spread of COVID-19 among participants.

Health & Safelty Measures (updated Spring 2022):

  • Masks: Wearing a mask isn’t currently mandatory in Alberta, except when using public transit and in health care settings. However, attendees may be required to wear a proper-fitting mask when not eating, drinking, or making a presentation. If mask-wearing is optional at the Conference & Exhibition, be kind to and respectful of those who choose differently than you.
  • Vaccination: Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 isn’t currently required to attend the Conference, however attendees who aren’t fully vaccinated may prefer to register for online access in the event that public health guidelines change. Proof of vaccination is currently required for federally regulated travel, including air travel. “Fully vaccinated” means receiving at least two doses of an approved vaccine by September 17, 2022.
  • Distancing: Many adjustments have been planned to maintain distance between attendees: lunch tables will seat fewer people than before, kiosks and help desks will be spread to minimize queuing, space between chairs in meeting rooms will be increased, etc. TAC and the ECC will make many small adjustments to enhance the safety and comfort of all attendees.
  • Feeling unwell, testing and close contact: If you test positive for COVID-19, are waiting for your test results, have COVID-19 symptoms, or have been in close contact with a person who has tested positive, contact us to arrange a transfer or cancellation rather than attending the event. Attendees already in Edmonton who experience COVID-19 symptoms are asked to stay away from others by remaining at or returning to their hotel.
