Call for Nominees – TAC Young Transportation Professional Award

A new award has been created by the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) to recognize outstanding accomplishments as a young professional in the transportation industry.

Nominees for the 2017 Young Transportation Professional Award must be no older than 35 as of December 31 in the year the award is presented. The award is open to employees of all TAC member organizations.

If you wish to nominate someone, complete and submit a nomination form by March 3, 2017, accompanied by a nominee profile. The profile should describe, in 500 words or less, how the nominee meets each of the criteria described below, using specific examples whenever possible. Self-nominations will not be accepted.

  • Professional accomplishments (e.g., outstanding achievements in transportation practice, evidence of continuing formal or informal professional development and education, significant career advancement, outstanding contributions to their own firm/agency/institution)
  • Industry contributions and advancement of the transportation profession (e.g., contributions, memberships, achievements in TAC and other professional/technical societies)
  • Leadership (e.g., leadership within their own firm/agency/institution, within TAC or other professional/technical societies)

The winner will be contacted by July 1st. The award will be presented at the 2017 TAC Conference and Exhibition, and will include a travel stipend of up to $2,000 to offset the costs of travel to the conference.
