CTAP Awards
RECOGNIZE THE TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY'S BEST PLAYERS!
Nominations for the 2013 Canadian Transportation Awards Program (CTAP) must be received no later than Friday, May 24.
The Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) program recognizes leadership, excellence and achievement in all modes and segments of the transport sector. If you know someone who has made an outstanding contribution to transportation in Canada, this is your opportunity to ensure that this individual is considered for the industry's most prestigious awards!
An independent panel of judges representing the air, rail, marine and road modes will select the award winners. The panel reserves the right to recommend that a nomination made under a given category be changed to another category.
Winners will be notified in sufficient time to make travel arrangements to attend the September 25 TAC closing event in Winnipeg. Sponsors will also be advised if their nominees are selected.
TAC thanks the following partners of the CTAP program for their support.
How to Nominate
In order to streamline the award program, all nominations must be submitted using the online form and supporting biographical documentation must be sent by email in Microsoft Word or PDF. No exceptions to this requirement will be allowed nor will hard copies of any documents be considered.
All nominations require two sponsors. Nominations must include a clear narrative description of the candidate's accomplishments (maximum of 200-400 words), that is, how transportation services, practices, procedures or effectiveness were improved. They should also indicate how the nominee meets the criteria for the relevant category or categories.
Travel expenses are the responsibility of the recipient, employer or sponsor.
Nominations are solicited for the following four award categories in 2013:
- Transportation Person of the Year
- Award of Excellence
- Award of Achievement
- Award of Academic Merit
The awards will be conferred during the closing event of TAC's 2013 Conference and Exhibition in Winnipeg, September 22-25.
Eligibility
To be eligible for any of the awards, nominees must be involved in transportation or in an activity closely related to the industry. The nominee's responsibilities must somehow contribute to the movement of people or goods. Although nominees will generally be working in the industry, recent retirees will also be considered.
Nominees for Transportation Person of the Year must not have received the award when it was conferred by National Transportation Week.
The awards are conferred at the discretion of the CTAP Awards jury and as a result, some of the awards may not be conferred in any particular year.
