Official Hotels of the 2010 TAC Conference

Room Rates (per night)

Hotel (see (6) Single or Double Occupancy
Atlantica Hotel Halifax $149 (standard rooms)
Delta Barrington Hotel $187 (Delta rooms)
Delta Halifax Hotel $187 (Delta rooms)
Marriott Halifax Harbourfront Hotel $199 (standard rooms)
Prince George Hotel $219 (standard rooms)

(1) These special room rates, as well as rates for other room types at some hotels, are being offered only to TAC conference attendees. In order to benefit from these reduced rates, delegates must refer to the TAC conference when making their reservations.

(2) The TAC hotel room block release date is August 25 except for the Atlantica Hotel which has a July 31 release date. However, rooms will most likely not be available at some of the conference hotels well before the release dates. It is very important that delegates make early hotel reservations as overall demand for rooms in Halifax is expected to be very high during the week of the TAC conference.

(3) The above rates are subject to Nova Scotia’s 15% Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) and the 2% Halifax Regional Municipality Marketing Levy.

(4) Delegates are urged to modify or cancel their hotel reservations as soon as they become aware of any changes to their travel plans in order to avoid penalties and to allow other delegates to benefit from increased room availability. This also allows TAC to better manage its room blocks and to meet its contractual obligations.

(5) The hotels require a deposit covering the room charge and taxes for the first night. In the event of a cancellation, the deposit will be refunded if the hotel is notified by a predetermined date and time. Delegates should inquire about their hotel’s cancellation policy when they make their reservations.

(6) Most major functions (except the Down East Lobster Ceilidh), sessions and committee meetings are being held at the World Trade and Convention Centre. The conference registration area and exhibition will also be located at the Convention Centre. Some sessions and committee meetings will be held at the Prince George Hotel and Marriott Halifax Harbourfront Hotel. The TAC Board of Directors and the Councils of Ministers and Deputy Ministers Responsible for Transportation and Highway Safety will meet at the Marriott Hotel.

(7) TAC will not provide shuttle bus service between the World Trade and Convention Centre and the conference hotels.

(8) Persons with mobility problems may wish to inform their hotel of any special requirements when the reservation is made.
