Monitor TAC Research Feeds and Compilations

Thursday, January 21, 2016

The Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) Library can help you access new research it receives and adds to its catalogue on an ongoing basis.

The TAC Research Bulletin highlights recently-published reports and articles from around the world with relevance to road transportation in Canada. Full text links are included, so you get more than just the abstract.

This free resource, brought to you by TAC’s Library, also known as the Transportation Information Services (TIS), can be found on the TAC website under Bookstore and Resources. Articles and publications are grouped by category including geometric design, intelligent transportation systems, municipal and urban, pavements, road safety and more. Users can use the Search function to find related topics of interest.

The mission of the TIS is to search for and share knowledge and information to improve the state of road transportation in Canada.

Additional TIS Services

A physical collection of books, manuals, and reports is just one aspect of the TIS toolkit. Online tools and databases, collaboration with other organizations, and connections with other professionals are also made available to TAC members via TIS.

To keep abreast of trends or highlights in the transportation and roads sectors, ‘TAC Alerts’, posted on TAC’s website Home Page, feature the newest additions to the Library Catalogue.

The Current Practices and Innovations Database is a collection of materials recommended by members of the Maintenance and Construction Standing Committee and Climate Change Task Force to provide a common set of documents on maintenance, construction, road safety and climate change.

Free TAC Library Webinar

As part of TAC’s newest series of free monthly webinars, the TAC Library will provide an overview of its services and products available through TIS. It will demonstrate how using TIS can help you in your job, by saving time, effort and money while identifying high-quality research. Yes, there is a difference between a proper library search and using Google!

Register now for this free TAC Tuesday webinar on February 23; an encore presentation will also be featured on September 13.
