Membership Happenings - December

Monday, December 7, 2015

The Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) welcomes its newest members - Carmanah Technologies Corp. (Victoria, British Columbia) and the Township of Stirling-Rawdon (Stirling, Ontario).

The City of Waterloo, in partnership with Region of Waterloo, has installed a fully-actuated bicycle cross-ride system at Erb Street and Peppler Street at the edge of the uptown city core. The City currently maintains over 233 kilometers of combined road-off trails, bike lanes and signed bike routes. The implementation of this innovative and accessible cyclist and pedestrian system is part of the City’s transportation master plan – to offer a pedestrian and bike facility network that is safe, convenient, comfortable and accessible to both groups with varying degrees of mobility.

McElhanney Consulting Services Ltd., an employee-owned company providing integrated engineering, surveying, mapping, community planning and environmental services, has established a new strategic transportation planning division. Expanded services will include transportation demand modelling, policy formulation, land use planning, traffic and revenue projections, and specialist public and stakeholder engagement.
