Salary $61,805.03 - $77,194.06 annually
 
This permanent position is located in Victoria, however, consideration may be given to the following office locations: Coquitlam, Kamloops or Prince George.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure plans transportation networks, develops and implements transportation policies, and administers related acts and regulations. The Rehabilitation and Maintenance Branch is accountable for the highway preservation program, which is focused on the preservation of highway infrastructure and the performance of the highway system using annual and multi-year rehabilitation programs and frameworks.

The Manager, Asset Information Systems manages, coordinates, and maintains Ministry-wide information systems for bridge engineering and road pavement asset management (e.g., rehabilitation and replacement). The position coordinates the collection, analysis, and interpretation of a wide variety of data related to the functionality of the systems (BMIS,RPMS), and leads the development, implementation and maintenance of future systems, services as well as policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards with respect to bridge and pavement asset management. The position develops systems and information tools to identify optimal maintenance actions and to predict and/or estimate future funding needs, condition of assets, and remaining service life.   

The ideal candidate has an Infrastructure asset management background, business management and leadership experience, wants to grow with the team and most importantly thinks creatively when problem solving. 

Qualifications

Qualifications for this role include:

  • University degree in Applied Science (Engineering), Transportation Engineering, or Civil Engineering. Other acceptable education as recognized by the professional association may be considered.
  • Registration or eligibility for immediate registration (e.g.is a registered P.Eng.in another province) as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (APEGBC).
  • Minimum of 5 year’s practical experience working with transportation, highways or bridge (engineering) asset management systems and associated information technology
  • Experience in the development of, or improvements to, highways or bridge asset management systems as well as information collection, analysis and reporting standards and requirements
