Duties

CIMA+ is currently seeking applications for a Transportation EIT for our Calgary, Alberta office.  We are interested in qualified individuals with 1-3 years of experience in transportation planning/engineering.  The successful candidate should be interested in a broad range of assignments and possess superb interpersonal skills.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who wants to be challenged and is ready to join a dynamic team that is rapidly expanding.  CIMA+ is a well-established, multidisciplinary, Canadian engineering firm with expanding operations in Western Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general project support for transportation planning, engineering, design and construction
  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
  • Assistance to senior planners, engineers, surveyors, technologists and project managers
  • Report preparation
  • Design and drafting support
  • Recording and distributing meeting minutes
  • Project reporting and controls
  • Document management
  • Site reconnaisance
  • Construction monitoring and general on-site support
  • Data collection, technical research and compilation of information
  • Support preparation of proposals
  • Administrative tasks
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

  • A university degree in Civil Engineering, combined with a minimum of 1-3 years’ relevant work experience
  • Registered as a Member In-Training with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of Transportation Planning and Engineering
  • Exceptional communication skills including a strong command of English (written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of MS Office, CAD, and traffic analysis software
  • Ability to travel
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license
