Educational Achievement Award

Subject Area and Award Eligibility

TAC's Educational Achievement Award recognizes outstanding contributions by a TAC organizational or individual member in the area of education and/or training relating to an in-house or external program. The program should include one or more noteworthy elements of innovation, demonstrable payoff, widespread recognition, improved skills sets, improved practices, or providing the foundation for future and better business practices of the member or the transportation community in general.

The establishment of this award reflects TAC's commitment to the importance of education and training of its constituency. It is also meant to showcase outstanding achievements, to recognize those responsible and to provide an incentive for others in the transportation community.

Nomination Requirements

A representative of any TAC member may make a nomination by submitting a Project Abstract Form by December 12, 2016, using the abstract template.

Submit a Project Abstract Form

This abstract is the first step of the two-step submission process. The abstract should demonstrate how the full submission would address the Educational Achievement Award criteria as outlined below.

If the nominee’s abstract is approved, the nominating individual will be contacted by January 31 and invited to make a full submission to TAC prior to 15:00 EST on March 3, 2017.

The full submission must follow the layout requirements outlined in the Full Nomination Template and should clearly describe the initiative and explain how it is an innovative or otherwise unique contribution to education and training within and/or external to the member's organization, the key individual(s) involved, the major tasks or activities, the outcomes and benefits. Any other aspects considered to support the award should also be described.

Your March 3 submission must consist of an electronic file in PDF format. The full submission should be no longer than twelve (12) pages of text on 8.5" x 11" sheets with size 12 font. Supporting documents such as photos and diagrams are not to be included in the twelve-page limit and could be attached as an appendix. The submission, with appendices, must be submitted using the online nomination form.
