2015 TAC Foundation Scholarship Recipients Announced

Wednesday, July 29, 2015

The Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) Foundation has announced that 36 scholarships are being awarded to undergraduates (13 university and 4 college) and 19 graduates in transportation-related disciplines totaling $151,000.

A brief summary and the list of 2015 TAC Foundation scholarship program recipients is now available online.

This brings the running tally of the Foundation’s scholarship program to 400 scholarships valued at more than $1,641,500 since 2005.  It also marks the first time that there have been dedicated college / GECEP scholarships supported by a donor.

The Foundation‘s Scholarship Committee, chaired by Dr. Luis Amador of Concordia University, selected the recipients following a detailed evaluation of scholarship applications.  The 36 recipients, plus a number of other high-ranking applicants, will again benefit from the Employment Connections component of the program when, later this fall, information about their future employment interests and career ambitions will be shared with the TAC Foundation’s major donors.  Connecting transportation and roadways sector employers with the best and brightest young professionals entering the field brings increased relevance to participating in the TAC Foundation’s Scholarship Program for both donors and applicants.

Congratulations to this year’s recipients and the TAC Foundation’s committed donors for their tremendous support of the Foundation’s vision of Educating Tomorrow’s Transportation Leaders
